Focus on road safety this winter

HighvizBAN OPTICIANS in Brixton is helping children to stay safe this winter by making a special donation of high visibility vests.

For the rest of November, Specsavers, on Brixton Road, will give out the vests – on a first come, first served basis – to promote road safety awareness. Specsavers is partnered with the road safety charity Brake which campaigns and raises funds to prevent deaths and injuries on the roads.

specsaver4Brian Simpson, the Brixton store director says: “Now that the clocks have changed and the nights are getting darker, we want to ensure that children – and their parents – feel safe when they’re out and about over the next few months.

“By raising awareness and by offering the children these vests, we hope that they take extra care on trips and excursions. We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone in to store during the week.’

  1. Perhaps they could offer free eye tests or discounts on glasses for drivers? That would probably have more effect.
