Beer City in Brixton

Brixton will be hosting at least two events during London Beer City 2015, which runs from 7 to 16 August in breweries, bars and pubs all over London.

On Tuesday 11 August, Brixton Brewery at Arch 547 in Brixton Station Road is hosting a beer and cheese tasting from 6.30 to 8pm.
Cheese expert Ned Palmer will help participants appreciate five cheeses from the British Isles matched with some of the brewery’s best beers.
Tickets are £25 each plus £2.15 booking fee and are available on Eventbrite.

Beer Hive in BrixtonBrixton’s own Beer Hive (left) at Arch 283 Belinda Road (off Coldharbour Lane) will mark the start of the week with a party on 8 August from noon to 8pm. There will be beer and food from noon and jazz in the evening. Exclusive beers that will be available include Cowgirl American Pale Ale from Clarkshaws Brewery and the launch of London Beer Lab’s Simcoe and Citra Black IPA. Mangia, Mangia, the Italian supper club, will be providing snacks and treats that should go perfectly with beer.

About Blue (below), a Camberwell based jazz and blues trio, will be playing in the evening, with sounds from the great American songbook, from the Blue Note to Broadway. Led by the smoky vocals of Anna Ukairo, this guitar and bass driven trio play swing, ballads, blues and Bossa Nova – timeless classics from the golden age of jazz.
