Monday  Today’s the day for Crates Under The Stairs (C.U.T.S) and Record Swap Shop in Brixton. This monthly get-together is a celebration of all things vinyl. The Ritzy cinema hosts this laid back but funky night where anything goes, as long as it goes around a turntable. Expect rare groove, jazz, reggae and hip-hop. The music starts at 7.30pm and from 5.30pm you can get take part in the vinyl swap shop, where you can trade or purchase a wide selection of vinyl treats.

Tuesday At this month’s Dr Bikes session cyclists can take advantage of free bike checks (first come first served) and friendly advice on all aspects of cycling and cycle training. Windrush Square 5:30 -7:30pm.

Wednesday Love your Bugle? Want to meet the people behind it, pitch ideas or even write for us? If so, come to Kaff Bar at 7pm for our contributors meeting, followed by a Meet Brixton social at 8pm.

megadethThursday Metal giants Megadeth bring big sounds to the Academy as part of their UK-wide tour. Doors at 7pm. Adv booking essential.

Friday Mosey on down to Dogstar for Choice Cuts, a selection of golden era hip hop, funk, soul and requests. This is a late one folks – 9pm ‘til 4am. Free all night.

Saturday  The Mango Landin’ Collectibles Market, a cornucopia of antiques, vintage clothing, African furnishings and vinyl, returns to the pub between 11am and 5pm.

In the evening Latin music lovers should check out Brixton locals 7SUNS who are headlining at Hootenanny tonight. Serving up a slice of African, Latin and Caribbean sounds with a side of funky jazz, they are guaranteed to get you onto the dancefloor. Preceded by a mix of Latin and Caribbean inspired acts. 9pm til 3am. Free before 10 and a mere £3 after.

Sunday Sporty sorts may want to participate in the RunThrough Brixton 10k in Brockwell Park today. Starting at 10am this 2 hour run is organised by RunThrough, a racing initiative which aims to challenge and motivate runners of all ages. Entry is £12.

  1. Despite the takeover talk we are still running the Market…..still going strong 6 months on. Hope to see you all THIS SATURDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER….Vintage clothes vinyl records jewelery art and crafts…..Also books being sold on behalf of the Lambeth Green Party….food drink and music…
