Two men who carried out a robbery in Brixton with a broken bottle have been jailed for 13 years.

The men, Kadele Carew, 19, of Barcombe Avenue, SW2, and Jordan Kanon, 21, of Laurel Crescent, Croydon, met their victim in central London and invited him to a party in the Brixton area.

Police said that once they arrived in Brixton the 27-year-old victim, who has not been named, was led down an alleyway and stabbed in the hand with a broken bottle and his mobile phone was stolen.

According to police he was left ‘traumatised’ by the attack and required extensive plastic surgery.

DC Jamie Keane, of Lambeth Robbery Squad, said: “The community should be reassured that these types of robberies are not an everyday occurrence and we are doing everything we can to keep you safe.”

Carew received a total of 9 years for robbery and GBH.

Kanon was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment for robbery.
