Brixton Calling: Voices of the Country Show

Delores William went along to the Lambeth Country Show at Brockwell Park, where she managed to speak to organiser and project manager Tim Fannuci who told her of his pride in how the show has grown in the five years that he has managed it.

Gail Sprake who is a trustee with the Rare Breeds Society also spoke to Delores. Gail was a judge and compere for the best of breeds competition –a very popular event.

South Londoner Katie was there with her family. She  has been going to the show for the last five years and hopes to continue going for the foreseeable future.

The little voice that pops up in the interview is the adorable Azaria – she had a great time by all accounts.

It was a great day that was  enjoyed by thousands. Lambeth council said an estimated 95,000 people were at the show on Saturday, with 80,000 there on Sunday.

Council leader Lib Peck said: “It’s a real tribute to the council and our events team that it all came together in such a colourful and exciting celebration of Lambeth”.
