Brixton martial arts expert jailed for breaking man’s neck

JAILED: Erin Dixon

A martial arts expert from Brixton has been jailed for seven years for a vicious assault in which he broke a man’s neck.

Erin Dixon, 36, of Hargwyne Street, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Thursday after being found guilty of grievous bodily harm.

On 27 November 2011, Dixon went to his friend’s Hackney home to find her lying on her bed with the male victim.

He then attacked his 25-year-old victim by beating him with his hands and fists. A prolonged attacked continued, with the victim being thrown against a wall before Dixon left.

Police and London Ambulance Service attended the scene. The victim was taken to hospital and a CT scan revealed that he had a fractured vertebra in his neck, and Dixon was arrested.

Acting DS Kevin Ives, from Hackney Police, said: “This was a sustained and serious assault by an individual with a clear capacity for extreme violence. The victim could easily have been much more seriously injured.”
