Brixton pub crawl – voted by you!

There is no shortage of quality post-work watering holes in Brixton, so sometimes it can be hard to choose which one to hit for a midweek tipple.

We’re grateful, then, to our friends at Londonist for organising a trawl around some of Brickie’s best boozers, as voted for by our very own beer swillers.  The tour kicks off at the White Horse, Brixton Hill, from 6.3opm next Tuesday, March 27.

It is the second leg 0f the Londonist A-Z of London pub crawl. And we were honoured that having annihilated Angel, the London experts passed over the delights of Beckton, Barnet and Battersea in favour of Lambeth’s own locals.

Nearly 300 people voted for their favourite bar using the Londonist website, Facebook and Twitter and the top four pubs have been chosen. The walk will weave its way between SW2 and SW9 as follows:

  • 6.30pm The White Horse
  • 7.30pm The Effra
  • 8.30pm The Trinity Arms
  • 9.30pm The Duke of Edinburgh

For those with a strong constitution, a nightcap may be taken at the Albert and/or the Dogstar after the Duke of Edinburgh.

For a full list of how Brixton fans voted for their favourite pub, and an interactive map, head over to the Londonist post. And if you fancy coming along, please drop an email to matt@londonist.com so he can keep track of numbers. And if hanging out with the Brixton Blog and Londonist teams wasn’t appealing enough, you’ll also get given a fetching Londonist pub crawl pin badge.
