Brixton Soup Kitchen have launched a music album to help raise funds so they can buy a van, enabling the organisation deliver hot food to many of London’s homeless.

The organisation have enlisted dancehall star Popcaan, reggae artist Dre Island, rapper Cashtastic and music company E5 to create The Brixton Soup Kitchen EP, which will be available on iTunes next week.

Founders Solomon Smith and Mahamed Hashi are looking to raise £25,000 to buy a van and a smart car.

The vehicles will mean the team can drive to key homeless spots around London and deliver food, drinks, warm clothes and sleeping bags to those who need it.

Brixton Soup Kitchen was formed in 2013 and has been providing a valuable lifeline to the homeless in the community: as well as food and drink they offer CV workshops, job guidance and advice on housing and benefits.
