It may have been one of the coldest days of the year, but that didn’t stop Brixton’s barmier contingent from taking to our unheated lido yesterday.
Scores turned out in the chilly February sun for the Brockwell Lido Cold Water Swimming Gala, organised by Brockwell swimmers and the pool’s managers, Fusion Lifestyle.
Co-organiser Tim Sutton, a committed cold water swimmer, said: “A brilliantly mad day at the Lido. It was fantastic to see so many swimmers enjoying our wonder, wonderful Lido. Great fun and amazing team effort by everyone. Can’t wait for the next.”
Tim thanked the sponsors Fusion Lifestyle for all their efforts and for supplying life guards and pool staff, adding that he hoped there would be many similar events to come.
The overall title on the day went to Tooting Bec Lido, with other teams made up of Brockwell Lido, Streamline Swim, Windrush Triathletes and Out to Swim.
