The Harvest Festival  at Brixton Windmill promises to be bigger than ever. Activities for all the family include building haystacks with Father Nature, a harvest poems recital by the Brixton Windmill Theatre Company and baking demonstrations by the Old Post Office Bakery.

Free workshops include making bath bombs with herbs run by Pure Goodness; creating dough decorations with Heart in the Art; learn how to make a straw hat with hat maker Jane Smith; upholstering in rush, cane and seagrass with Irene Dickson and creating felt bowls with Flextiles.  And, you can also learn all about bee keeping from Bee Urban.

Fun activities for  children include a snail race, bring your own snail or back one of the snails provided. As well as lots of games, there’s face painting and a bouncy castle.

Music and entertainment  by the The Umbrellagirls, Jug Addicts, Bob Glynn Salsa Band Los Domingos and Groove School. Refreshments and food by Juice Box and The Old Post Office Bakery.

The festival is sponsored by The Peter Minet Trust, Comic Relief, The London Community Foundation and Blenheim Gardens RMO.  As the Festival falls on Open House Weekend, short tours of the windmill can be booked on the day on a first come first served basis. Visit www.brixtonwindmill.org
