Another Lambeth is Possible, Housing Crisis, Community Solutions

A housing crisis conference on 28 November at Pop Brixton will bring together political decision makers and community members to explore solutions to the negative impacts of the housing crisis.  All residents, past or present are welcome. Details

Workshop topics include:  Estate Regeneration – what is the future for council housing?; Insecurity & evictions – renters, migrants and homeless people; Culture and class – libraries or gyms? fish-shops or wine bars? … who decides on our town centres?

Additional workshops will be held in Edmundsbury Community Hall, Ferndale Road, Brixton Pound Shop and Art Nouveau Cafe on Atlantic Road. There will be activities for children during meetings.

Conference supporters include Lambeth Housing Activists; Lambeth Friends of the Earth; Architects for Social Housing;  BARAC – Black Activists Rising Against the Cuts; Brixton Pound, BAGAGE – Brixton Action Group against Gentrification and Evictions); Street Kitchen; Save Brixton Arches; Save Lambeth Libraries campaign; and estate residents.
