Striking junior doctors outside Lambeth Hospital in Brixton

Lambeth Keep Our NHS Public (KONP) has organised a joint public meeting with South West London KONP on Tuesday 5 April at 7.30pm in the Balham Baptist Church at 21 Ramsden Road, SW12 8QX (next to Waitrose on Balham High Road).

It will consider threats to the NHS from privatisation and devolution and support for the junior doctors’ strike over the government’s imposition of a new

Speakers will include Dr Youssef El-Gingihy (an East End GP and author of How to Dismantle the NHS in 10 Easy Steps); John Lister (Health Journalist and co-founder of Keep Our NHS Public); and Dr Ranjeet Brar (a junior doctor at King’s College Hospital).

About the Author

Alan Slingsby moved to Brixton just as the 1981 uprising began. His nearest pub was the Effra and nearest off licence the Frontline — long gone in an earlier wave of closures of treasured community establishments. He works out of an office in St Matthews and before that the Bon Marché. Has edited newspapers for the National Union of Students and National Union of Teachers. Now makes a living designing magazines and books and anything else people will pay him for.
