Lambeth College BTEC students celebrated their success after receiving their results, writes Chidi Ogundu.

Most of the students achieved the grades they needed to go to university, further training or a job in their field of study.

BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) diplomas  specialise in work-related qualifications and are equivalent to A-Levels.

Rowan Paris achieved a triple distinction (DDD) in his BTEC Dental Technology and now has a job in Birmingham with a  dental technician.  He said: “I feel very happy and I’ve enjoyed my time at the college.”

Alfie Gibbons earned a triple pass (PPP) in Access to Higher Learning Music Technology and will be going to Portsmouth University to study Music Technology.  He said: “I learnt how to be a sound engineer but the dream is to be a producer.”

Lambeth college provides education and training to around 13,000 students at their Clapham, Vauxhall and Brixton campuses.

Paul Cox, Vice Principal at Lambeth College, said: “We enjoy celebrating the success of our vocational learners at this time of year so that they receive the recognition they deserve.”
