Lambeth photography students awarded for capturing real London life

The inaugural RealLife Photography Awards will be presented to Lambeth College photography students who have captured “personal moments in Londoners’ lives”.

The awards will take place on on Thursday March 26 at Block 336 Gallery in Brixton.

17 photographs will be on display representing partners, healthy lifestyles and diversity, the NHS services, night-time economy and the older generation.

Prizes will be awarded for best image in categories: best use of portraiture, best composition, best technically and best “on brief”.

RealLife photog awardsThe shortlisted entries will be on display at Block 336 between 4pm and 6pm on Thursday.

An online exhibition will showcase the winners and shortlist from Friday, 27 March at www.resonant.agency/reallife2015.

The judging panel include Matthew Farrant, a Lambeth-based photographer whose images often appear on the front cover of the Guardian and various campaigns, as well as Andrew Wiskowski, course tutor at Lambeth College and Gary Nolan, Managing Director of Resonant.

Resonant, a Lambeth-based behavioural marketing agency, set up and sponsored the awards.

  1. A person should be totally aware of how a place really is when visiting. These students who have captured what life really is like in London will help travelers and visitors know beforehand what it’s like in London, and they can be prepared by correcting some misconceptions that may have about the city. Good luck to all who will submit their entries!
