Brixton-based Remakery co-operative workshop space is launching an open workshop night each Thursday from 6 to 9pm.
It’s a collaborative design evening where people can help develop and make things from reclaimed materials.
The aim is to prototype ideas in response to a problem or brief, and over time, attendees will suggest new challenges which will benefit remakers and the wider community.
Briefs will cover materials that are regularly thrown away, things the Remakery has lots of in its storage area or projects put to the society from businesses and the local community.

Remakery is running an eight-week introductory sewing course for 18-30-year-olds on how to make bags and clothing. It will run on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:30pm, with drop-in sessions on Thursdays at the same times to practise.
The first four lessons are on 9, 16, 23 and 30 November, with the last four in 2017.
It’s free but a small deposit is required to secure your place – there are only 10 places available.
