Man charged with Brixton murder

Police investigating the stabbing in Brixton’s Atlantic Road have today (20 August) charged a man with murder.

South London resident Alando Bolt, 45, will appear in custody at Hendon magistrates’ court on Monday.

The victim has been formally identified as 30-year-old Andrew Thompson from Kennington.

A post-mortem examination conducted on Saturday gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

Detectives from the Metropolitan police homicide and major crime command are investigating and are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
