Metropolitan Police commissioner visits Lambeth tonight

Cmsr Bernard Hogan-Howe will be at Lambeth College at 7pm

The Metropolitan Police commissioner, Bernard Hogan-Howe, is to visit Lambeth Common, Clapham, this evening for a public meeting.

Hogan Howe will be at Lambeth College Sixth Form Centre, Clapham Common South Side,  from 7pm. He will discuss his vision for London and what he describes as ‘total policing’ before taking questions from the audience. He is likely to be quizzed by residents on the recent rise in violent crime in the borough, including the knife murder of 17-year-old Kwame Afosu-Asare on the Moorlands Estate, Brixton, last month.

Places are limited at the event so people are urged to arrive early when the doors open at 6.30pm. Entry will be on a first-come-first-served basis. The event will finish at 8pm.

The Brixton Blog will tweet live from the meeting.
