16 January 2018 may seem a long way off but that is the UCAS deadline for most university applications. Get Accepted is a Brixton-based charity aimed at helping local students in getting those applications in.

And they are running a free walk-in clinic at the Brixton Pound Cafe on Saturday 25th November from 10am to 1pm.

The charity is the brain-child of a group of young professionals living in Brixton who have first hand experience of the trials of university applications. After an initial consultation, students will be paired with one of these professionals who will support them throughout the application process and help them write a compelling personal statement.

So set the alarm clock on Friday 24th and get down to Brixton Pound Cafe, 77 Atlantic Road on Saturday. Parents are also welcome to attend.
