Police are investigating a rape in Brixton.

At around 10.30pm yesterday (11 July) the victim, a woman in her mid-20s, was approached by an unknown male as she walked through Rush Common off Dray Gardens.

He demanded money and when she refused he grabbed her, forcing her to carry out sexual acts. He made threats and then raped her.

The suspect is described as a white male believed to be in his 40s, around 5ft 11in tall, and wearing dark-coloured clothes and a black woolly hat. He had a London accent.

The Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command is investigating.

Witnesses and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or the witness line on 0208 721 4016, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

  1. It makes you wonder what the hell the police are doing with their time when all you can hear all day on Brixton Road is police sirens 24×7

  2. Police chock-a-block in front of Morley’s a couple of days ago, all for display purposes, there is a rape and the perpetrator walks off scotch-free.

    How awful.
