Police seek help with Brixton stabbing

Police carPolice in Brixton are appealing for information and witnesses after a 25-year-old man was stabbed in an unprovoked attack.

Police were called by the ambulance service shortly before midnight on Sunday (18 September) to reports of a man suffering stab injuries on Brixton Road.

He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains stable with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made. A number of enquiries are in progress and police are studying CCTV footage of the incident.

One suspect in thought to have attacked the victim near Windrush Square at 23:55.

The suspect is described as a young male wearing dark clothing. He is believed to have run off towards Rushcroft Road after the incident.

Detective constable Nick Perry, who is leading the investigation, said: “A large number of people gathered around the victim following this attack which occurred next to a busy KFC restaurant.

“Were you in the area at the time? Did you see anything that could assist police? My team are keen to hear from anyone who was there or has information about what took place.”
