Detectives investigating last night’s stabbing in Brixton – which left the 18-year-old victim in a critical condition – are appealing for witnesses and information.
Police were called at around 6.15pm to reports of a man suffering stab wounds near where Rushcroft Road meets Windrush Square.
Officers found the man with serious injuries. He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Police believe the victim was riding a bicycle when he was knocked down by a grey Ford Focus and that the occupants of the car pursued him into Windrush Square where he was further attacked. The vehicle was abandoned at the scene.
Detective Sergeant Ewan Robertson of the Metropolitan Police Trident and area crime command said: “This was a violent attack, carried out close to a funfair being enjoyed by families and children, which has left the young victim with very serious injuries. If you have any information that can assist our investigation, please contact us.”

So, someone is run down by a car, then stabbed in front of a Christmas crowd. If this had happened anywhere else it would be called terrorism, and there’d be a nationwide manhunt.
