If you want a real English breakfast, this is the place to go.

The Phoenix Restaurant is a Brixton stalwart. Forget ricotta pancakes and skinny lattes, this no-nonsense greasy spoon next to the Brixton bookmongers serves proper mugs of tea, fried eggs, beans, bacon and black pudding. There are pictures on the wall of past proprietors and the current staff here are super friendly. It’s a very welcoming place to go on a hangover and cheap too.
