Traffic is building up in central Brixton this morning after a collision involving a motorcycle at the junction of Sidney Road and Stockwell Road.

Stockwell Road is closed in both directions from the junction with Brixton Road, with buses and other traffic on diversion.

One Twitter user wrote at 7.50am: “Absolute vile crash outside my house. Too vile to post a pic. Positive vibes go out to the motorcyclist and driver…”

TfL said traffic is “flowing  well” on diversion. But Andy Bartlett, who sent the Blog the picture above via Twitter, called the traffic on Brixton Road “carnage”.

*UPDATE: Brixton Hill is now almost at a standstill central-London bound. Some buses from Streatham are terminating at Streatham Hill/ Telford Avenue.

  1. My deepest sympathy to those involved.
The road layout & high speed limit in this area are a scandal. Putting road users & pedestrians in danger.
This is a well known blackspot, yet Lambeth council & TFL sit on their hands.

  2. Walked past this crash today, my prayers and thoughts are with those affected
