Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses summer events are in full swing, and there’s something for everyone.  At Sunday Pizzas you can roll the dough and fire up your own pizza. There’s music gigs, workshops, walks, aquatic and blog planting, screenprinting, outdoor play and learning for children.

iyatraQuartet are multi-instrumentalists who work collaboratively to create original, boundary-bending and joyful music.

Effra Folk Trio at the Greenhouses August 20 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Folk trio Effra have been described as “striking instrumental folk” by The Independent. Effra are Alex Bishop (guitar), Tom Newell (fiddle, mandolin) and Aidan Shepherd (accordion).

Gig@the Greenhouses – Oysland Band October 8 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Seven-piece band, Oysland, embody the new generation of Yiddish roots music, serving up a cocktail of wedding songs and lamenting lullabies.

 


GINGER TEA PARTY

Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses (BPCG) have been growing ginger plants all year so expect the  Ginger Tea Party  to be a celebration of all things ginger. Saturday 16 September 2 – 5pm.  To secure tickets, do book in advance.

Join Jar and Fern at the Greenhouses to make your own Demijohn Terrarium.

Bat Walk at Night September 1 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Walk to several key locations both at the greenhouses and within the wider park to find out more about these elusive mammals.

British Native Aquatic and Bog Planting September 24 @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

Learn more about British native bog and aquatic plants from Paul Richens.

Screen Printing at the Greenhouses September 27 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Nicole Line is holding a Screen Printing Workshop at the Greenhouses in late September. Nicole teaches at the University for the Creative Arts and has been running workshops since 2014. For more details and to book go here

 


OUTDOOR LEARNING AND PLAY FOR CHILDREN

BPCG’s new natural play kitchen is open from Thursday to Sunday 10 – 5 with a mud kitchen, willow wigwam, welly boot planters and much more natural play kit. This project was created by Andy and Shayna with the help of many volunteers.
