Duke of EdinburghThe Duke of Edinburgh has been awarded Grade II listed status.

The pub was built on Ferndale Road in 1936 by the Truman Brewery.

Historic England recommended to the government that the Duke join the 20 pubs across England built between World War One and World War Two to be listed this year.

The pub is described as “handsome and stylistically restrained, with extensive use of good-quality materials and careful, understated detailing, the building exemplifies the character of the inter-war ‘improved’ public house.”
