Three in court after police discover 43 mobile phones stolen from Courteeners gig at Brixton Academy on Friday

Police used a Find my Iphone app to find a haul of 42 mobile phones allegedly stolen from a  gig in Brixton Academy on Friday.

The haul of phones was discovered after a woman reported her phone had been stolen during the Courteeners gig at the Academy, at about 11.30pm.

Police then used the Find my Iphone App to track the device to a cafe on Stockwell Road, where they found another 42 mobile phones in the possession of a man and woman.

The pair were arrested. A third man had been arrested earlier outside the venue on suspicion of going equipped to steal.

Police say that 22 victims have so far been identified, and they have reunited 19 people with their phones.

Three people from Essex and east London appeared at Camberwell Magistrates’ Court yesterday in connection with the investigation. The trio was bailed to appear at Inner London Crown Court on November 24.
