Tiny Brixton studio flat on sale for £125,000

Screen Shot 2014-07-10 at 13.57.05 We can all agree that the housing market in London – and above all Brixton – has gone a little bonkers in recent months.

But we were astonished to see this TINY Brixton room, or “breathtakingly expensive box” on sale for a steal at just £125,000 today.

The Morrish Road studio flat, marketed by estate agents KFH was spotted by @KatBrown82 and shared on Twitter.

Apparently already ‘under offer’, the 13 sq m space boasts its own doorway, a bathroom and ‘fitted kitchen’. It is, says KFH, “a rare opportunity to purchase this studio flat situated close the excellent transport links and amenities of Brixton.”

Screen Shot 2014-07-10 at 13.57.35Tellingly, the two pictures posted online don’t show any shots of the interior, and the floor plan doesn’t seem to show any windows for the property either.

Luke Massey (Luke_Mas) said on Twitter: “Breathtakingly expensive box in #Brixton. Hurry guys – it’s ‘under offer’.”

Screen Shot 2014-07-10 at 13.57.42Figures compiled by Nationwide last month showed house prices in Lambeth rocketed by 37 per cent between spring 2013 and spring 2014, and Brixton as been a central part of that upsurge. Other areas in Lambeth that have seen a big rise are Clapham and Vauxhall.

In May, London’s ‘skinniest house’ – at only 99 inches wide and with one sole bedroom – went on sale in nearby Denmark Hill for £450,000.

See the flat displayed on the KFH website here.

  1. I’m sure I’m not alone in worrying that my landlord will sell up and leave me homeless #private renter #over 60

  2. KFH state “a rare opportunity to purchase this studio flat” could KFH enlighten us what is rare about buying a flat in SW2? Or are they specifically referring to this property then it would be rare if it sells once every 10 years or so for example. “Fitted kitchen,” it looks just like two hobs on a unit. One bathroom, well it would be difficult to fit two bathrooms in a space 11×12 foot, cannot see a bath though. Front door, it looks like a back door. 1 reception and 1 bedroom where? They are one room use as both a bedroom and living area, say it as it is KFH.

  3. Looks like the link on the KFH website and on rightmove has been taken down! Embarrassed perhaps?

  4. That’s £9600 per square metre.
My one 42m² bed flat in Brixton was valued by Foxtons at £10700 per square metre.

But we’re buying another flat (Victorian conversion) Brixton at £6200/m² so there are slightly cheaper options.
