Two men have been arrested over the murder of 17-year-old Jerrell Elie in Brixton.

Elie, from Camberwell, died from severe head injuries on Saturday August 8 in Flaxman Road SE5.

Police believe that the teenager at been at a party in nearby Gordon Grove that evening.

It is thought a fight broke out and Elie was chased by a number of people.

An Audi car also took off in pursuit, which was seen coming back down Gordon Grove moments later.

Police, who were called at around 8.50 p.m, believe that Elie’s fatal injuries were caused by being struck by a car.

The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended, but Elie was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 29 and 30, were arrested at 4.20 am today, August 10, in York Road, Wandsworth, on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Brian Fitzpatrick said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened in Flaxman Road, or the events leading up to Jerrell’s death. The party was well attended and it was a warm evening with a lot of people out and about – if you saw anything at all please contact us in confidence.”
