    Students from the Baytree Centre and volunteers from the Wonder Foundation will be celebrating Refugee Week, sharing food, activities and stories from our homes, past and present. The aim of the event is to have fun while also shining a light on the value that educational centres like Baytree bring to the lives of their refugee students. Refugee Week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and encourages a better understanding between communities.     Monthly Scratch That Brixton offers a platform to musicians, spoken word artists, playwrights, performers, filmmakers, comedians and more. The night consists of 7 – 8 acts trying out new work in development to an open and friendly audience who can offer anonymous written feedback. Want to get involved?     Pop Fields is a multipurpose space adjoining Pop Brixton on Brixton Station Road which is screening the summer’s sporting events, on Tuesday it’s Northern Ireland vs. Germany at 5pm and Croatia vs Spain at 8pm.     Join Blues Kitchen’s resident band every Wednesday for a set of classic soul tunes from the motown, stax and atlantic vaults. Free. From 10pm.

    FRI 24 @ PHONOX
    Perlon favourite Margaret Dygas arrives at Phonox for a special all night session with her penchant for long, sweeping productions that cherry pick elements from techno to melodic dub. Free Entry Before 9pm, £5 advance tickets, £10 on the door. 6pm to 4am.

    Neneh Cherry (DJ set) and Jazzie B are up on the roof at the Prince of Wales. £15. 4pm to 4am.

    SAT 25  @ POP BRIXTON
    Lambeth Live Explosion is a free event for families, friends and music lovers presented by the Lambeth Music Network. Young musicians and DJs play all day from 3-7.30pm; the musical celebrations continue with an after party from 9.00pm featuring the DJ selection of Two Tone founder, ex Special and local hero Jerry Dammers. Free entry all day.

    SUN 26 @ HOOTANANNY
    Rootmaster presents KOROLEKO, formed by Moussa Dembele, a musician and teacher from Burkina Faso, now based in London. Dembele is master craftsman of traditional West African instruments and has been making instruments and performing internationally for over fifteen years. KOROLEKO is six musicians playing Kora, Flute, Ngoni, Balafon, Djembe and vocals – bringing authentic African sounds to Hootananny, with energetic material strongly inspired by traditional West African music. Free. 8pm to midnight.
