Students from Lambeth College with Chuka Umunna MP last year

The anxious wait for A-level results will be over for thousands of Lambeth youngsters this morning.

Schools and colleges will be giving out envelopes with results from about 9am in the borough. Those who have got in to university will be the first year to pay top-up fees of up to £9,000, while others will now be faced with trying to find a job with record youth unemployment levels.

Across England, Waled and Northern Ireland some 330,000 young people will receive their A-level results later today.

The Brixton Blog will be at Lambeth College, Clapham Common South Side, to gauge the reaction of students as they discover their fate.
