Firefighters attend ‘chemical incident’ in Herne Hill

ALERT: The cause of the fumes is still unknown

Dozens of firefighters are still at the scene of a suspected ‘chemical incident’ on Dulwich Road, Herne Hill.

Police have just re-opened the road after closing it in both direction and specialist ‘scientific support units’ are also standing by.

Officers first arrived at a house on the corner of Chaucer Rd and Dulwich Road at about 6.15pm.

A fire officer at the scene said: “We evacuated several people from the flat who appeared to be overcome by fumes.”
