Sportscar crashes into Edible Bus Stop on Landor Road, Brixton

LAST STOP: The Audi TT ploughed through the Edible Bus Stop and into a wall

This is the dramatic aftermath after a red Audi TT destroyed a community garden project after its driver lost control.

The sports car careered off Landor Road and through the Edible Bus Stop before smashing into a garden wall in Landor Road, Brixton just before 6am on Monday.

The Edible Bus Stop is the first of  series of community gardens, created by locals at bus stops along the route of the 322 bus through Brixton and beyond.

A member of the Edible Bus Stop team told the Blog that nobody was hurt in the incident, and that the beds were about to be re-dug anyway. They added: “It’s ok though as the Edible Bus Stop is being re-landscaped very soon, into a beautiful, efficient growing space.”

A spokeswoman for Lambeth police said they were called to the scene at 5.45am. She added: “It appears a red Audi vehicle has mounted the pavement and collided with a street sign and a front garden wall to a residential property.

“The vehicle was removed by police. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.”
