Loughborough Junction masterplan will shape area’s future

MASTERPLAN: An artist’s impression of what Loughborough Junction could look like.

Loughborough Junction Action Group (LJAG) is working with Lambeth council to develop a masterplan for the area.

The community-led organisation has organised two public meetings in Loughborough Junction to ask other residents how they would like to see their neighbourhood developed.

The masterplan could attract funding and lead to major environmental improvements in the area including opportunities for new paving, public squares, better lighting, tree planting and greenery, improved walking and cycle routes, new building developments and community facilities.

LJAG co-chair Anthea Massey encouraged as many people as possible to get involved.

She said: “The masterplan gives people who live and work in Loughborough Junction the chance to have their say and shape the way the area looks. Whilst the plan will be visionary and aspirational, it is important that the neighbourhood retains its community character, so we want to encourage as many people as possible to come along to the consultation events.”

She added: “The masterplan is at an early stage – now is the time to get involved.”

Public consultations will take place on the following dates:

  • Saturday November 10, 11am to 3pm
  • Wednesday 14 November from 3pm to 7.30pm

Location: Beneath Cambria Road Bridge, Cambria Road, SE5

  • Saturday 8th December, from 11am to 3pm

Location: Loughborough Centre, Barrington Road, SW9
