“Why, this is very midsummer madness”
Andrew Pepper (Andrew Aguecheek) and Amy Downham (Viola)

ATTIC Theatre Company and Sixteenfeet Productions are set to bring a rip roaring production of Shakespearean shenanigans to Brixton this summer, as they join forces to present Twelfth Night or
What You Will in  Brockwell Park from 3rd to 14th July as part of MAD for Brockwell Park.

Transporting the audience to a Mediterranean island in the 1960s where the lovesick Duke Orsino pines for the beautiful Countess Olivia, the play is directed by Jenny Lee, whose past credits include 1936 (Sadler’s Wells) and sell-out open air productions of Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream says.

Speaking about the upcoming production Jenny hopes this production is “fun, accessible and contemporary, while remaining true to the play” and feels that Brockwell park provides “the perfect backdrop”.

Limited seating will be available but audiences are encouraged to bring cushions and blankets to ensure a comfy perch. A range of picnic hampers will also be available to pre-order through the box office.
