The nights are drawing in, so it’s lucky there’s a stream of musical events for you to enjoy this weekend. We give you a run down of the main picks we reckon you’ll enjoy the most. If you think we’ve missed anything out, please let us know.

Saturday October 12: “Put your dancing shoes on!” Is the quote of this Saturday’s Grand and Gorgeous gathering this week in the Grand Union. Providing you party DJs from 8pm till late. It’s free until 10pm, and even then it’s a mere £5 to stay. Join in and get your groove on!

The Soul Club Boys are back at the Effra Social to bring you the best of rare northern soul, funk and beats from 8pm until late. This is a great free option for you to hang out and listen to great music. But if you miss them, do not worry. They’ll be around every other Saturday night too.

If you’re looking for dark dnb, grime, and bass, look no further than this Saturday’s NOISE – Female Takeover. A free entry event scheduled from 10pm – 3am for you to enjoy some of the freshest beats that female artists have to offer. A great opportunity for lesser publicly known artists to show off their skills to locals. All happening in the Dogstar, Coldharbour Lane. No ID, no entry for this one.

  1. Hey there Brixton Blog!

I had the pleasure of spinning house and disco at the 414 club a few weeks ago and by 7:30am I knew I had found not only our next party venue, but possibly something with longevity.

We’ve been throwing late night house parties and other events, mainly in East London’s Hackney, since the early 00s; with a focus on an intimate, friendly atmosphere, a varied and audiophile music policy and a crowd beyond any social, cultural or sexual classification.

For the past couple of years, as Hackney has become saturated, we’ve looked increasingly towards South/South East London for late, intimate venues where we can bring our house party vibes and combine our friends with local, like-minded people.

…so what better place and what better venue than Brixton’s own late night party institution, the 414 Club on Coldharbour lane?

We’d love it if you could list us and we’d love it even more if you wanted to come as our guests, check out the vibe and have a boogie with us.

    The party info is here:

We’d love to hear from you,
    Leo (lovetoparty)
