It’s the beginning of a new month , and there is no shortage of affordable events happening in Brixton town this weekend, with a loose theme seeming to be good food and drawing. Here Blog trainee Jack Burt brings us his highlights of the next few days…

Friday 4th October: The Brixton Food Festival  has already begun, with special deals around town every day around given themes. The climax of the week-long event comes tomorrow (Saturday) when Brixton-based food traders and restaurants descend on Station Road to showcase their international wares. It’s already been mentioned on the Guardian website, Time Out and the Londonist, so expect a sea of expectant foodies, and the obligatory appearance from Levi Roots, from 10am.
