Striped back brickwork and fine tuned paintwork. It’s light and airy and the bar is long, so you’re never far from your next pint.
The Punters
Mainly local professionals with wallets to wave and taste buds to tingle. Its location makes it great to pass a quiet afternoon with a paper.
The Booze
Beer, and we’re talking proper beer, not effervescent chemicals. The selection changes more often than a politician’s mind. And they claim to run over twenty-five beers on tap – that’s not to mention the bottled selection behind the bar. Oh, and there are a some decent wines too.
The Grub
Pub food with finesse and they’ll even recommend a beer to go with it. They also do Sunday roasts and sharing platters to keep you standing upright (it’s pretty easy to get carried away).
The Damage
As they serve Craft beers from all over, you’d expect to pay a bit more. Worth asking before you buy though as some of the distinctly obscure brews come in pretty steep.

It’s a little out the way. That said, for real beer lovers, it’s worth the walk. Probably best get the bus back though.

Brixton Pub Review – Crown & Anchor by Keith Lewis
Don’t forget the scotch eggs. Easily the best around. Plus, very very friendly staff who know there stuff. Pleased to call this my local.
My fave local place. Craft is more central and it’s nice being pedestrianized (mostly) but the Crown does proper food – good food too and is a much more comfortable pub in general.
