Brockwell Park has retained its Green Flag Award for 2015-16, along with ten other Lambeth parks.
The Green Flag Awards were announced earlier this week at Redbridge Town Hall and all eleven Lambeth-based sites were confirmed as having passed the standard at both full judging and ‘mystery shopping’ level, including Brockwell Park.
Lambeth councillor Jane Edbrooke, whose responsibilities includes parks, celebrated the news on Twitter.

The Green Flag Awards are the national benchmark of high standards in green spaces and are judged by more than 700 expert volunteers, who assess applicant sites against eight strict criteria, including horticultural standards, cleanliness, sustainability and community involvement.
Other Lambeth parks to hold the prestigious award are Archbishops Park, Hillside Gardens Park, Kennington Park, Milkwood Park, Myatt’s Fields Park, Ruskin Park, St. Paul’s Churchyard Clapham, St. John’s Church Gardens Waterloo, Streatham Rookery and Vauxhall Park.
Brockwell Park also won a ‘Bees Needs’ Special Award for the work done in the park to help bees and other pollinators over the years, which included the Wildflower Slope, the new hedge planting and all the work in the Walled Garden and Community Garden.
Expect the new flag to be flying proudly over Brockwell soon!
