Art, rhythm and rhyme at the Brixton £ cafe this Friday

Friday 21 October: Art Opening 6-7.30, Poetry reading and Slam til 9.

Featuring  Liu Huiting, contemporary artist on the rise, followed by provocation and wit in equal parts with the performance poetry of Laura Taylor and friends.

Hosts the Brixton Pound Pay What You Feel Cafe say say since its Friday, local drinks and eats will include the best local beer and wine.

“Only the Memory Remains” – a pop up exhibition – is running for one week only.  Liu Huiting, is a contemporary Chinese artist whose MA Show at Chelsea this year was much lauded, say the organisers.

“Kaleidoscope – On Tour!” – one of a few stops on a book tour by Laura Taylor. The book is a “challenge to authority and the ‘politricks’ of power from one of the UK’s most incisive performance poets.”

The Café will also host special guest Joy France: “Witty and wise and with a natural talent for rhythm and rhyme, La France has that ‘je ne sais quoi’”
