Another Funny Turn at Block 336

“Breathing walls and twisting shadows”

From 17 May, Block 336 on Brixton  Road will present Another Funny Turn, the first UK solo exhibition of work by artist duo Sarah Cockings and Harriet Fleuriot.

They revisit their confused teenage selves to find ways to survive their thirties and have constructed a sound and video installation where “rocks judder, bushes smirk, shadows twist and walls breathe”, in what promises to be a challenging journey through “a disorientating wilderness of dramatic rehearsal driven by catastrophic thinking”.

Cockings and Fleuriot work collaboratively across performance, video, sound and sculpture. Their first joint project – the short film Plasma Visit was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2017.

The exhibition runs until 14 June in Block 336, 336 Brixton Road, SW9 7AA, Opening hours: Thursday – Saturday 12 – 6 pm.
